Dear Residents

This is a brief update on the progress of the new Neighbourhood Plan.  In August every household and business in the designated area received a Neighbourhood Plan survey and of the 3100 delivered by volunteers, to whom I am most grateful, 985 were returned for assessment.  This was an uplift from the first plan of over 250 responses.  That data is now being assessed and will help inform the State of the Parish Report.

Our focus groups are working to update their brief from the first plan and will be holding two open day events to give you the opportunity to have further input into the plan process.  The dates for your diaries are Saturday 4th November from 9.30am to 1.00pm in the Garden Room of the Henfield Hall and an evening session on Wednesday 8th November from 6.30pm until 9.00pm, in the rear section of the Garden Room. Please come along and give us your views.

Our Call for Sites notice has been published and we have written to all of the site owners / agents of the allocated sites of the first plan, notifying them that we are producing a second plan and some responses have been received.  These will have to go through the site assessment process, which will be helped by the Housing Needs Assessment that has been carried out by AECOM on our behalf.  Once again, we will give those developers and other potential developers the opportunity to give a site presentation at a public meeting, or meetings, depending on the number of sites that come forward. We will be holding those meetings at 7.00 pm  on Tuesday the 14th of November  and at 7.00 pm on Tuesday the 28th of November. Once again please come along and take the opportunity  to question their proposals.

With input from Horsham District Council, who are producing the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment on our behalf, our aim is to be able to submit our pre-submission plan, for consultation over a six week period, in the spring or early summer of 2018.

Progress so far and up to date information can be found on the Henfield Hub.

Thank you for your continued support.
