National Gardens Scheme

The National Garden Scheme offers so many diverse gardens – they’re a great place for a group visit – come expecting a warm welcome and plenty of tea and cake!

When the NGS was founded in 1927, proceeds from garden open days helped to fund the essential work of district nurses.

Ninety years on, our volunteers continue to raise money for a group of national charities that includes Macmillan Cancer Support – in fact, they’re now their biggest donor.
