School gardening has been quite a success, and a visit to the Boys’ allotments or the Girls’ potato patch will convince anyone that they are not playing at raising vegetables. Besides the piece of ground at Batts the girls have a useful piece lent by Mr Markwell at Hacketts. On this they have raised a variety of things.

Fruit Bottling Demonstration. Only a comparatively small audience in the Parish Room to witness a fruit and vegetable demonstration. Many complaints have since been made that it had not been sufficiently advertised. Others that there was uncertainty about the time. Those who were there were certainly rewarded and gathered many practical and most useful hints. Every best wish and greeting to our own defenders on the third anniversary of the outbreak of this terrible world conflagration, and may the end come long before another comes round.
