Henfield Women’s Discussion Group

Would you like to join our very friendly, informal group?  We have been meeting for over 25 years, and always welcome new members.

We get together in each other’s houses on the second Monday of every month, except August, at  8.00 in the evening, and chew over the current topic.  The hostess provides tea or coffee and biscuits.  At the July and December evenings we make it more of a social event, including a meal.

We discuss a wide variety of topics, and everyone helps choose what they will be.   Sometimes we have speakers from outside the group, and sometimes one of us leads the discussion.  On some evenings we just all bring a newspaper cutting and have a mixed bag of short discussions on current issues – some serious some less so!  Or we may watch a recording of a short documentary and talk that over.

You don’t have to turn up for every meeting.  When you come, you pay £2 for the evening, which is used (accounts available) to pay for the modest fixed fee we pay to outside speakers, and also to subsidise the social events, and to make a contribution to the costs of the Parish Magazine where you can find this month’s meeting details.  You don’t have to pay when you are hostess or are leading the topic.
