Many people are happier if they can remain independent and in their own homes as long as possible. But for a person with dementia, this can become increasingly difficult as the condition progresses.
The Dementia Care and Support Service provides personalised one-to-one support for people with dementia in their own homes to help with everyday tasks, from preparing meals to helping with washing and dressing. Elisa Vaughan, Alzheimer’s Society Operations Manager for Sussex, said: “We want people with dementia to remain independent for as long as possible in the area. That’s why we want residents to take advantage of our Dementia Care and Support Service in the area. Carers benefit from the service too – they get time for themselves and can be confident that they’re receiving the best support and compassionate care needed from our trained dementia specialists.”
