Due to Covid 19 and the day perhaps being not as well known as Rememberance Sunday, a respectable number did attend at the 75th anniversary of VJ Day on to pay their respects Saturday 15th Aug 2020.
The event whilst shorter than at Remembrance Sunday, as there was no parade from Cagefoot Lane to the St Peters Church Henfield and back to the War Memorial outside the Henfield Club, it still had the "Last Post" sounded by two buglers and the flags of the UK's three forces flying. The ceremonial flag was lowered at the start of the two minutes silence and raised on the Reveille.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the British Legion on behalf of the Henfield Club which can been visited during the week.
Henfield's Parish Magazine has details of where small exhibitions in memory of this milestone are available.
