Roy will be joining us at The Henfield Hall for a talk 'My Life with Plants', and we look forward to being entertained with interesting stories from his life of gardening. Refreshments at 7 pm, talk starts at 7.30.

Roy's passion and knowledge about the natural world makes him an inspiring figure for gardeners and young horticulturists - he really is an expert on his subject, receiving many awards, including an OBE  and a CBE, and Honorary Doctorates of Science by the Universities of Bolton and  Winchester.  He is also President of the Maple Society, the Hardy Plant Society and Vice President of the Royal Horticultural Society.  I am sure we will all learn a great deal from such a busy and well informed man!Roy will be bringing along copies of his new book 'My Life with Plants' to offer at a discount to our members - a book which has been described as "his most autobiographical book to date".   This talk is free to Garden Club members, and tickets for non-members (£5) are available from Jasmines Flower Shop in Henfield High Street prior to the meeting; or phone 01273 492483 to obtain tickets by post.    If you'd like to join the very popular Henfield Garden Club before end September (thereby saving the £5 ticket cost), there is a modest annual membership of only £10 or £15 for a couple at the same address - contact; or ring 01273 493900.  You'll be able to access a whole range of activities including outings, speakers and social events.  We are holding a New Members evening (a chance to get to know other new members as well as committee members) on Friday 29th September.   If you'd like to know a little more about our events, you can find details on the Garden Club's page on the Hub  Outings and speakers are now being finalised for 2018, so watch this space!
