Even if you feel healthy, you should have the free flu vaccination if you are:

  • aged 65 years or over
  • the main carer of an older or disabled person
  • a household contact of an immunocompromised person
  • pregnant
  • having learning disabilities

or if you have any of the following conditions

  • a heart problem
  • a chest complaint or breathing difficulties, including bronchitis or emphysema
  • a kidney disease
  • lowered immunity due to disease or treatment (such as steroid medication or cancer treatment)
  • liver disease
  • had a stroke or a transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
  • diabeties
  • a neurological condition, for example multiple sclerosis (MS) or cerebral palsy
  • a problem with your spleen, for example sickle cell disease, or you have had your spleen  removed.

CHILDREN Aged 6 months to 18 years and in an at risk category as above. This year flu immunisation is recommended to all children in the following age groups:- Ages two, three and four-year-olds – by appointment at the surgery now   

SHINGLES Routine Shingles now available for people born between 2nd September 1945 to 1st September 1946 and a catch up programme for people born 2nd September 1937 to 1st September 1938 Those who have been eligible in previous years can still have the immunisation up to their 80th Birthday This includes people born on or between 2nd September 1942 and 1st September 1945 and those born on or between 2nd September 1936 and 1st September 1937 who have not had an 80th Birthday. To have the shingles vaccination on its own or with the flu immunisation make an appointment now

MENINGITIS ACWY Available for young people aged 18 – 25 years who have not previously been vaccinated. By appointment at the surgery now

MEASLES, MUMPS & RUBELLA Available for people aged 16 years and over who have not previously been fully vaccinated against MMR (ie have not received two MMR immunisations at any time)    For further information and to book online please visit our website or call into the surgery to pick up a leaflet.
