The 1st Henfield Scout Troop was founded in the winter of 1907 / 1908. The formation of 1st Henfield Scout Troop shortly after Baden-Powell’s experimental camp on Brownsea Island in 1907 was endorsed by the Scout Association in 2007 to be regarded as the oldest existing scout troop in the world.
