After many years of hard work the end is almost in sight for Henfield to have an adopted Neighbourhood Plan. Following the Examiner`s Report, the plan has been amended to reflect his modifications. On the 22nd June 2020 Horsham District Council (HDC) issued its Decision Statement concluding that the modified Henfield Neighbourhood Plan (HNP) complies with the legal requirements and may now proceed to referendum.

At the start of the lockdown for Covid 19 the government deferred all elections and referenda until 5th May 2021. In view of the importance of getting the HNP adopted as soon as practicable, the Steering Group asked Henfield Parish Council (HPC) to write to HDC to explore the possibility of holding a referendum by way of a postal vote before that date. A reply to HPC`s letter is awaited. In the meantime the Plan carries significant weight in planning terms.
