The ceremony was led by chairman Eric Holder who thanked the wide range of people and groups who had worked tirelessly to make the facility possible. These ranged from HDC, the Parish Council, architects, contractors, friends of the Leisure Centre and its committee and staff.

Before asking Sheila and Peter to cut the ribbon Eric presented young Henry Francis with a free year's membership as a reward for choosing the name for the facility - Sharky's.

Henry later led the charge to enjoy the great range of slides, jumps and obstacles.

The area is now open for business - opening times are Mon - Fri 9 till 6 and 10 till 5 at weekends. Under 12 months (and adults!!) are free; under 5s at £5; and 5 or over £5.50.
