Henfield Parish Council is seeking an additional Works Officer to work 15-20 hours per week (negotiable). The role will involve assisting the Parish Clerk and other Works Officers in managing and maintaining property, land and facilities under the control of Henfield Parish Council.

The applicant should have a full driving licence and be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all seasons. Ideally experienced in the use of hand and power tools, although additional training can be provided. Able to deal with members of the public in a polite, respectful manner.

Job Advert for Deputy Clerk

POST TITLE: Deputy Parish Clerk
REPORTING TO: Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer
LOCATION: Henfield Parish Office/ Henfield Hall, Coopers Way, Henfield BN5 9DB
HOURS OF WORK 35 per week (full time) with occasional deputising for Clerk at evening council and committee meetings.
SALARY: £25k to £27K, depending on experience.
PENSION: In accordance with the Workplace Pension Regulations.

Henfield Parish Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable person to carry out the duties of Deputy Clerk to the Parish Council.
Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, be computer literate with a proven proficiency in MS office applications and have some accounting experience.

They should be able to work as part of a small team, yet also be confident working on their own initiative. Previous experience in the public sector and in a small office environment would be helpful, although not essential and training where required will be provided. The role also includes deputising for the Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

The successful candidate will be confident and enjoy dealing with members of the public, as part of the local community.

Job Advert for Parish Administrator

Henfield Parish Council is seeking a Parish Administrator to assist the Council and Parish Council Chairman in ensuring the smooth functioning and recording of meetings. Meetings are held in the afternoon and evenings. The role will also include assisting with the administration of Parish Council projects.

The applicant should have proven proficiency in MS Office applications and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

The working hours will be approximately 30 hours per month (with the potential for additional hours in future), depending on the level of committee business.
