Things have by no means stood still in Henfield and the Scouts’ movement has rapidly developed under the energetic leadership of the Scout master. Another movement of rapid growth that bids fair to go on growing is the recently formed WI.

1st Henfield Troop Boy Scouts. Work is quietly and steadily going on in the consolidation of the Troop. On Monday, October 15th, 45 boys passed the Tenderfoot test and so become full Scouts. The Troop now number 50 boys and no more can be admitted. Through the kindness of friends, a house in the High Street has been secured as Headquarters, and a home of their own provided for the Scouts, who, as soon as the necessary repairs etc., have been effected, will move in. A route march to Terry’s Cross and back took place on Wednesday, October 24th, and another march in full uniform also took place on Wednesday, October 31st. (Alan Barwick tells us that the High Street house referred to was part of what is now the Henfield Club.)
