THE FRIENDS OF ST PETER’S CHURCH,
“February-fill-dyke” is an old expression for the second month of the year. We have already had a fair amount of rain in Sussex so I hope we don’t have too much more. In an attempt to forget about the dreary winter days, a very happy time was had at the Friends’ January Brunch event when sixty-eight people enjoyed a full English breakfast with toast and croissants and home-made marmalades and jams. Huge thanks go to the Friends’ kitchen team who coped with a constant demand and sometimes difficult conditions. We are also very grateful to the rest of our committee and their helpers who facilitated the whole occasion and to see a profit of just over £600 is the cherry on the cake! We really appreciate the loyal support of our regulars and those who invited their friends and family to swell the numbers.
We are also asking your support for another event when Dr. Janet Pennington will give an illustrated talk on “The Adur Valley”. This takes place on Thursday 22nd February 2018 at 7:30pm in the Catholic Church Hall. Tickets cost £7.50 and may be obtained from Village Care in Henfield High Street or from the ticket line on 01273 492294. Janet is a very experienced and interesting speaker, so do come; we’d love to see some new faces too so here’s another chance to extend our membership.
