MyMaths – One of the first action points raised at the Class Reps meeting was difficulty in accessing MyMaths on an Ipad/tablet. Shaun Bigg, Turtles Class Rep has come up with the following solution:
Q. What are the technical specifications required by the MyMaths website?
A. As MyMaths is a fully online resource you just need an Internet connection and an up-to-date web browser with inbuilt Flash, or a recent version of Flash installed on your computer. MyMaths supports all the major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but make sure they are up-to-date and Internet Explorer is version 11 or higher. MyMaths can currently be used on iPad/tablets through the free Puffin Academy app on iTunes and Android. Once installed and open you need to add the MyMaths content to the application:
• Click on the “Puffin Academy Portal” button.
• Search for MyMaths (there are three versions, Spanish, Australian and everybody else’s!)
• Click on the MyMaths picture, choose to ‘install’ and it should appear on the home page of the Puffin Academy app.
• Finally, click on MyMaths from the Puffin Academy home page and it opens like it would in your normal web browser, however this time it should work.

Fundraising – On Friday 17th November, St. Peter’s will be fundraising as part of ‘Children in Need – The Great Spotacular!’. Charity Reps will be organising some fundraising activities and children are encouraged to come into school wearing something spotty. We look forward to seeing the varied, colourful array of clothes that will be coming into school.
Our next event will be on Friday 15th December when children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper for the day, instead of the usual school jumper/cardigan. This will be in exchange for a donation of a £1.

PTA Update
Now that we’re back and hopefully refreshed after half term, we wanted to let you have a timely reminder that it’s the annual school Bonfire & Fireworks event this Friday. Whoosh! Advance tickets at discounted prices are still available from Stokes, Jasmins & the School Office so don’t forget to grab yours while you can. Don’t worry, once the bonfire’s out we won’t be resting on our laurels…..we will be straight in to Disco planning. So polish off those dancing shoes and ear defenders because on 24th November our first disco of the school year kicks off. Watch this space for further details nearer the date. And finally, back by popular demand, glorious Christmas cards, gift wrap and tags with your children’s fab festive artwork on. Further details will be out soon!

Sports Reports –
Henfield Football Tournament – As hosts we were able to enter 3 teams - Y6's, Y5's and our "rainbow" team (renamed the "Sainsbury's squad" of Y5&6). Playing teams from across our cluster, the matches were extremely exciting. We were fortunate enough to have 4 referees from Chelsea Football club's academy ref each game helping to promote FairPlay, which was a huge highlight for all the children. After the group stage matches were played, the results left our Y6 team top of group A, with Jolesfield in second and our Y5 team top of group B with Steyning A team in second place. Despite not reaching the semi-finals, the "Sainsbury's Squad" played extremely well and special mention must be made to their captain Felix who made some superb saves in goal.
Our ‘Sainsburys Squad’ - In the semi-finals our Y6 team beat Steyning A, whilst on pitch 2 our Y5 team went on to beat Jolesfield. This meant a St Peter's v St Peter's final! The game was thrilling and nerve wracking, seeing a 2-2 draw at the end and forcing us into extra time. Despite holding the Y6 team off and matching them goal for goal, the Y5 team lost out in the last 30 seconds when a sneaky goal from the Y6 team shot into the back of the net, leaving Y6s as the winners! This fantastic victory means we will be taking two teams to the Area Partnership Finals in the Spring Term. Congratulations to the children who took part, we are extremely proud of you.
Y5/6 Football, 13th October - Congratulations to our Y5/6 football team who took part in the Horsham District Sports Development Open Cup football tournament on 13th October. Having qualified into Division A two weeks previous, we came up against some extremely strong opposition. We won our first game against Southwater B, lost to our rivals Steyning in the second game and won against an extremely tough Southwater A in the final match. This left us with 2 wins and a loss to equal Southwater A's result. Unfortunately the final point came down to goal difference with Southwater A pipping us into first place by 1 goal! Well done to all the boys for coming runners up, you played amazingly!

Kind regards,
S. McCulley
