When West Sussex County Council announced that it intended to close the Henfield Day Centre, our community came together to save it. Dozens of people put in thousands of hours of work on negotiations, legal contracts, grant applications, fundraising, clearing, decorating and furnishing, gardening ....

We've told the story of the Haven on the Henfield Hub but here are the pictures to prove we did it!

The Haven has been transformed into a much-loved community facility providing activities, friendship, support and practical help to people across Henfield and beyond. Here's an example of fun in the garden from the 2018 Gardens and Arts Festival 2018.

This year, as the Haven was converted into the centre of operations for the pandemic Helpline, the charitable organisation we set up to run it won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Our thanks and congratulations go to all the volunteers who made it possible, and who continue to deliver for the people of Henfield.
