Today, the Bluebell Railway is one of the premiere preserved railway attractions in the country. The first preserved train ran in August 1960, currently the railway operates a comprehensive timetable using a fleet of steam locomotives. On site there are over 30 steam locomotives and over 150 assorted carriages and wagons. Whilst there is a full time staff, the railway is largely manned by volunteers.
Visitors can enjoy an atmospheric trip along the line, experience a wonderful meal in a Pullman dining car, tour the steam sheds and museum. In summary, a great day out for all ages.
